We here at Celebrity Fashion are not afraid to wade knee deep into controversy. And the current circus surrounding Miley Cyrus and Perez Hilton certainly qualifies as a controversy. In fact, this incident has nearly been getting as much media exposure as the once-in-a-lifetime oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. So is that a sign of just how decadent our society has become? You make the call. In any event, Perez Hilton is being skewered all over the media (both mainstream and alternative) for supposedly posting a picture of Miley Cyrus apparently without underwear on his Twitter account.
It was early on Monday morning, when Perez Hilton posted a photo of the 17-year-old Miley Cyrus climbing out of a convertible in a very short dress with no underwear visible. Instantly it sent a shockwave all over the Internet.
The photograph has since been removed from Hilton's Twitter account.
So was it wrong what Perez Hilton did?
Well, it depends who you ask.
Hilton insists that other photographs from the exact same incident clearly show Miley Cyrus was wearing underwear at the time.
So does that make everything okay?
The truth is that "Perez Hilton" (real name Mario Lavandeira Jr.) is not afraid to "push the envelope". In fact, there are many who would claim that Hilton regularly crosses the line.
If Hilton really had posted a picture of Miley Cyrus exposing her private parts, the truth is that he could have been in really big legal trouble. The law does not look kindly on those who post naked pictures of minors on the Internet. There is a very real possibility that he could have been facing jail time.
But it looks like Miley Cyrus was probably wearing underwear at the time. However, posting a picture of a 17-year-old girl with her dress up is beyond tasteless. Perez Hilton has nothing to be proud of.
So what does Miley Cyrus think about all of this?
Certainly she is not thrilled with Perez Hilton at this point.
But she seems unlikely to change the way that she dresses any time soon.
In a recent interview Miley Cyrus told the AP the following....
"I'm really comfortable with my body, I work really hard to be fit and to know that I can wear whatever makes me most comfortable. I feel more comfortable dressing with a little less, which is just how I've always been."
So what does Perez Hilton think about this ongoing controversy?
Well, Hilton has made a video statement addressing the tsunami of attention that he has been receiving. Please be warned that it is rather tasteless. Perez Hilton may have not posted a picture of Miley Cyrus without any underwear, but apparently he has no hesitation about posting a video of himself without any (apparent) underwear on....
