A notable name has joined the boycott against Ralph Lauren.  Miss Indiana 2009 has decided to jump on board the quest by documentary filmmaker Darryl Roberts to punish Ralph Lauren for using too many thin models in their advertisements.  Nicole Pollard reportedly was there when Roberts and dozens of other activists waged their "peaceful" boycott in Chicago.  The boycott was held in front of Ralph Lauren's store in downtown Chicago and it created a moderate amount of media buzz.

Nicole Pollard says that she is fed up with the kind of advertisements she has been seeing from Ralph Lauren and other designers....

"Women and girls are subjected to media and advertising images that are not realistic portrayals of the true customer."

In a statement, she described her reasons for joining the boycott....

"While Ralph Lauren is certainly not the only offender in the fight to have more diversity in advertisements, by speaking up so strongly against a giant in the fashion world, perhaps the rest of the fashion industry will see that women are fed up with the advertisements they have been shown for so long."

Well it certainly sounds like Pollard knows what she believes.

Perhaps she should boycott the Miss Indiana Pageant as well.

After all, when is the last time an overweight woman won that contest?

The truth is that this boycott of Ralph Lauren is more than just a little silly.

You can count us out.

We love Ralph Lauren.

There are about a million problems in the world that are more important than what Ralph Lauren's models look like.

Give us a break.

Perhaps the rest of us will conduct our own boycott against silly boycotts.

Perhaps we will buy double the amount of Ralph Lauren products that we would normally buy.

Yeah, that would show them.

Or at least it would be a lot of fun.
