Forecasting WR Performance

Orange Lutheran (Calif.) wide out

Kyle Ford

is close to finalizing another official visit and it’s with a school who is relatively new to his recruitment.

The last time we saw Ford, it was in Dallas, Texas at The Opening Finals and the receiver put on an absolute show. Despite his team falling in the semi-finals, Ford was still named MVP and had arguably the best performance we have seen from a receiver in the history of the event.

Ford caught 51 passes, most by any receiver at any preview Opening Finals and scored nine touchdowns over the two day 7v7 portion of the event. He was simply too big, too strong and too athletic for any corner to check and made a strong case to be regarded as the No. 1 receiver in the country.

Ford is currently rated the No. 39 player in the country in the 247Sports Composite but the No. 13 player and a five-start prospect by 247Sports.

On the recruiting front, Ford has already taken one official visit to Colorado back in June and is close to locking in official visit No. 2.

"I'm in the process of finalizing a visit with Washington for (Sept. 8)," Ford said. "They're kind of back in it now. They were recruiting me early on, then I stopped hearing from them and now they're back in it.

Bush Hamdan is the coach recruiting me and he's a good guy. He said they really need me so I'm going to give them a good look. I know Austin and

Dante Pettis really well and they speak really highly of Bush and the Washington program so I'm looking forward to taking the visit and seeing how I fit in there."

Ford has a few other schools in mind for visits as well.

"I'm definitely going to visit Oregon," Ford said. "That will be during the season and Michigan is a possibility too. I had a great unofficial visit to Oregon and they're recruiting me harder than anyone right now.

"USC has picked things up and has been recruiting me a lot harder recently as well.

Tee Martin is the main coach I'm talking with and I'll probably take my official visit there after the season, that's usually when the in-state players go. I'm talking with UCLA as well and looking forward to seeing how they look this season.

I was never able to make it over there for a visit but I'm for sure going to be going to a few games this season."

Ford and his Lancer teammates will open their season this Friday against San Juan Hills (Calif.). The Crystal Ball forecast currently has USC with all 13 predictions. The receiver said he'll likely make his commitment at the All-American Game in San Antonio January 5th.
