The Truth About The Jay Leno Vs. Conan O'Brien Tonight Show Feud

One of the biggest entertainment news items over the last couple of months has been the feud between Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien over late night time slots on NBC. You see, Jay Leno flopped so badly at 10 PM and Conan O'Brien flopped so badly at 11:35 that NBC was forced to make a change. Having Jay Leno at 10 PM was absolutely killing the local NBC news broadcasts at 11 PM and local NBC affiliates were crying out for a change. So NBC wanted to move Jay Leno to 11:35 and then have Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show start at 12:05. Jay Leno went for that deal, but Conan O'Brien balked. He felt that moving the Tonight Show to 12:05 would basically kill it.

And Conan was right. But since Conan wouldn't move, NBC has essentially dumped him and now Conan is out of a job.

It wasn't supposed to be this way. All the way back in 2004, Conan O'Brien signed a contract which stated that he would take over the Tonight Show from Jay Leno in 2009. At the time, Jay Leno seemed perfectly fine with this arrangement....

So what happened?

Well, it turns out that Jay Leno was consistently number one in his time slot from 2004 to 2009. So when the time came, NBC has this grand idea that they could move Jay Leno to 10 PM and that viewers would adjust and Conan could have the Tonight Show at 11:35 and everyone would be happy.

But there was only one huge problem.

The whole thing dramatically failed.

So NBC decided that they wanted Leno back at 11:35 and Leno accepted.

But this pissed off Conan O'Brien to no end.

Of course Howard Stern warned Conan that this would happen all the way back in 2006....

So now Conan is gone and Jay Leno is going to be doing the Tonight Show again at 11:35 every night once the Olympics are over. Needless to say, a lot of people are NOT happy about this....

So in an attempt at damage control, Jay Leno went on Oprah to explain his side of the story....

Regardless of who was right and who was wrong, the reality that we all have to adjust to is that Jay Leno is back doing the Tonight Show and Conan O'Brien is off the air.

So what does the future hold for Conan?

Well, Rupert Murdoch has expressed a strong interest in bringing Conan O’Brien over to Fox, but it is being reported that no serious negotiations have taken place yet.

But in a media conference call to discuss News Corp’s second quarter performance, Rupert Murdoch did have something to say about Conan....

"Certainly if the program-people can show us that we could do it, and be fairly confident of making a profit on it, we’d do it in a flash."

So will Conan end up at Fox?

Will he eventually compete head to head with Jay Leno?

That would be a beautiful thing to watch - one can only hope.

In the meanwhile, we are all stuck with watching fossils like Letterman and Leno at 11:30.

Perhaps it is time to pick up a new hobby or something until Conan comes back on the air.

The star of Leap Year has really come into her own the last couple of years. She has gone from just another supporting actress to one of the brightest stars in all of Hollywood. Certainly her lead role in Enchanted helped put her on the map, but it was Julie & Julia that really caused people to sit up and take notice and now Leap Year promises to usher Amy into the ranks of Hollywood royalty.

Not that the momentum is going to stop there.

Amy has some big film projects coming up, including The Fighter, Daughter of the Queen of Sheba, The Ten Best Days of My Life and Town House.

Not only that, but Amy's personal life is buzzing along quite smoothly as well. Adams was married in 2008 and she is expecting her first child in 2010.

What Is Being Described As An Astonishing Array Of Prescription Drugs Was Found In Brittany Murphy’s Bedroom

The fallout from the stunning death of 32 year old actress Brittany Murphy continues. Now it is being reported that investigators have found "an astonishing array" of strong prescription drugs on Brittany Murphy's bedside table. According to reports, some of the bottles of prescription drugs were made out to Brittany Murphy, but other bottles were apparently made out to her mother Sharon Murphy, some had husband Simon Monjack's name on them and some of the bottles had the names of other unidentified individuals on them. Some of the prescription drugs found on Murphy's bedside table include Topamax (anti-seizure medication), Methylprednisolone (anti-inflammatory), Fluoxetine (depression), Klonopin (anxiety), Carbamazepine (for diabetic symptoms), Ativan (anxiety), Vicoprofen (pain reliever), Propranolol (hypertension), Biaxin (antibiotic) and Hydrocodone (pain).

The sad thing is that Brittany Murphy never learned how incredibly dangerous prescription drugs can be. The truth is that thousands upon thousands of Americans die each year from reactions to prescription drugs. In fact, there are rumors that prescription drugs played a key role in Michael Jackson's death.

Just because a doctor gives them to you does not mean that they are safe. Especially when you start taking many different kinds of prescription drugs at the same time.

The reality is that many of these prescription drugs are only slightly different from illegal drugs. In some instances the differences are extremely small.

If you are taking a bunch of different prescription drugs please learn a lesson from the death of Brittany Murphy. People do die from the abuse of prescription drugs. If you think that you could be in trouble please consult with your doctor as soon as possible.

Are They Kidding? Celebrity News Service Names Lady Gaga The Best Dressed Celebrity Of 2009

There are times when we wonder if some people even know what fashion is anymore. After surveying their readers, Celebrity News Service has named Lady Gaga as the best dressed celebrity of 2009. Beyonce came in number 2. We can see Beyonce. At least she tries. But Lady Gaga? Are they kidding? Sometimes these awards go to the celebrity who is known for dressing the most outlandishly. But if that is what they are giving awards for, then they should not say it is for the "best dressed". That is just wrong. Lady Gaga deserves this award about as much as Ben Stein does. Let's get real. Lady Gaga sure grabs a lot of headlines for being outrageous. But it is just incorrect to say that Lady Gaga is fashionable. So do the other names deserve to be on the list? Perhaps. Beyonce, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift play the game well and should get some recognition. The only other name that looks way out of place on the list is Chris Brown at number 10. Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel Appears Nude On A 58 Foot Tall Billboard In New York City To Promote PETA

PETA has gotten another minor celebrity to take off her clothes to help spread their message. A gigantic nude photo of Bethenny Frankel from Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New York City” is plastered on a 58 foot tall billboard at the corner of Broadway and 53rd St. in New York’s Theater District. Her breasts are "tastefully" out of view, but her rear end is there for everyone to see. The billboard featuring her assets was unveiled on Wednesday, December 16th. It is just down the street from the Ed Sullivan Theater where David Letterman tapes his show.

So why did she do it?

This is how Frankel explained it to the New York Post....

“I used to wear fur, but I once saw a PETA protester holding a skinned animal, and now it makes me sick that people wear fur to show off their money and status.”

So will this do any good for PETA?

It is getting them some publicity at least.

But is PETA in danger of becoming known more for their nude women than for saving animals?

Only time will tell.

As for us, we prefer celebrity fashion stories where people are actually wearing clothes.
